Wing Mirror Fallen Off

Yesterday my wing mirror fell off! looking into it, its the 2 metal bars which form the strength which have snapped! Can anyone shed some advise on how i will remove the old one to fit the new braket. picking the new braket up from Central TVR tonight told on the phone about £30.

did a so called big major job for me last year, said they were doing me a favour getting it done so cheap £115 plus vat and what was this really cheap job - well it turned out that they had needed to solder a wire off the door switch, which on a 94 chim takes about 2 seconds to gain access.

Best thing was when they promised to collect the car from home at 0930, i phoned them (from my lounge at 1100 as the car was still sat on the road) and they said ''yes the problems fixed it just needs washing!!

Both of mine went within a few weeks of each other a while ago, looking back in my file it was actually 2002, and they were £6.83 each from TMS
They are a bit of a bugger to fit, but not impossible, there's details somewhere on here if you try a search for 'wing mirrors'

Convert to the later mirrors, if you dont do it now - you will when you've had a wrestling session with the damned tripod arrangement :-) Then you will see the advantage of just 2 simple screws accessed by just twisting the mirror in then out....

Sorted.....Popped to Horizon Motorsport which are 2 mins down the road. They had one (metal tripod) lying around which he let me have for £15. The guy down there ran through with me how to fix it. Was a bit tricky but got there in the end.
