Just wondered how Turbo S owners or people wh have driven them think of them.
Still want to get a classic air cooled 911, but maybe a replacement for my 997.1 Gt3.
Thanks Darren

They divide opinion - some people think they are the ultimate 911, others think they are dull and uninvolving. Very fast, yes, but rewarding?

I think the gen 2 may well be a big step forward over the gen 1 car. No substitute against any GT3 or air cooled IMO for fun per miles. More a stealth bomber.

Been driving 911 Turbos for over 30 years, Very Lucky to have owned 3 x 991.1 Turbo S, and 1 Gen 2. Done almost 100k Miles in them over past 4 years. Including lots of V-Max and track days. Also ran as Daily along side 991GT3s, 991R, and GTS. 91RS.

What would you like to know.

I am on my second 991 turbo s and absolutely love it. To me it ticks so many boxes that it is in a class of its own. No other car can do as many things well as the TTS does.

There are of course sharper and more involving 911s but as an every day driver that is sure footed in all weathers and can carry my two boys on the school run it's fantastic.

'Vanilla' 991s are not powerful enough for me, I like insanely quick cars. The GT cars don't have rear seats and I wouldn't be able to buy anyway so they are out.

Anyway, drive one and see. The one thing I will say is that its a car that comes alive the more you push it. Drive it in town in traffic and it will feel like an ordinary car, you need to challenge it to see what it is capable of.

Hey Darren, would it be your daily or a weekend toy? As a daily I think its totally unbeatable as its has such a breadth of ability and is easy in traffic or on a longer trip. As a toy its still great but as Deep says you'll need to push on a bit to get the thrills out of it. I've had a few of these like Apolo and the 991.2 turbo S is sublime

Hi Apolo
It will just be a weekend toy, but I guess I will use it more than my 997 gt3.
Do you think I will get bored and will it feel dull and not as engaging as the Gt3

It's the best 911 for the traffic light Grand Prix.

The S stands for slightly quicker and squeeze you for a little more money.

Hi
As just a weekend Toy, whilst the Turbo S is great fun for B road blast, you really have to be at the very high speed ranges before its starts to approach the same level fun that the GT3.1n 2 get to a far lower speeds.

What the Turbo S does do is make a case for about the best all weather daily driver, from a sports car prospective. Its also an Epic long distance car. Along with turn up on track day press a few buttons, and it can hold its own for a few laps with much more track bias stuff.

As a stand alone weekend toy prospective, I would take the GT3.1-2.
