I rediscovered the Steam game Scrap Mechanic this weekend. I'd bought it a year ago but at the time my computer wasn't powerful enough to run it properly. An upgraded sorted that!
Given that this is a car-related (mostly) forum I'm surprised I don't see much of a mention of the game. If you are of an engineering mind then it's an excellent way of getting completely engrossed in building something, and losing hours of your day! It's fairly cheap, gets regular updates, and has a huge forum of downloadable content.
Some of the things people make are amazing, there are fully working Transformers, piston-engined V8s in a car with double-wishbone suspension!
