They've just notified me that they are sending me my second new card of the year.

This is a bit inconvenient because automatic payments will now fail and I will have to update a lot of stuff.

Is this a general trend that anyone else is noticing or just me?

I've just had new ones too for no real reason confused

Can't remember if it was Barclaycard or someone else but I did have cards replaced for "security reasons" according to the letter sent at fairly short notice sometime back. No idea if they thought my card had been cloned or maybe there was some flaw with the chip or something else? Agree though it's a PITA as you have to update the details on Amazon, Paypal, and whatever other shopping site your details are stored on.

Sarnie, completely unrelated to this but I have a quick question and wondered whether it would be possible to ping you a quick email? Thanks in advance

Less likely to be a data breach within Barclays.

More likely is that a retailer has advised them of a data breach and your cards are being replaced as a precaution.

I've had 3 lots this year. A real PITA if you have them tied to accounts like Amazon etc.

I leave them on the draw now.

I had mine replaced earlier in the year, but they called first to say that they suspected my card details had been cloned.

I've got 3 barclaycards (2 personal, one business). Only had the business one replaced in the last couple of years, and that was when the old one expired.

I have a Barclaycard and it got replaced recently due to them ending their relationship with Amex.

Previous to that they gave me an Amex card and a Visa card, the former having higher cashback. Now it's back to a single Visa.

I'd forgotten about that. That's the third occasion.

My new Barclaycard has arrived and honestly it's a bit disappointing. It's thinner and more bendy than any of my other cards, a bit like a pretend one.

Perhaps they're making them cheaper because they intend to change them every few weeks!
