Tacx Machine software
Discussion
Hi
Having an issue reinstalling the tacx software (advanced 4) on my laptop after reinstalling windows. Basically the software keeps telling me that the Licence code is associated with another computer (ie the same computer). I asked tacx to resolve and they free'd up the licence (ie disassociated it from the laptop). Yet I still get the following message:

Has anyone else come across this?? I am using a tacx iVortex

Dunno yet, I have only used Tacx so far. Have quite a few films and use the google earth thing to train on. Going to give zwift a go for the race stuff in the new year, mainly as most of my strava friends use it. Not tried and multiplayer on Tacx so far.
Yeah. One of the heads I ride with is big into zwift. Not sure I would be even able to use my tacx as it’s an i vortex so not Bluetooth connected. I like the games on tacx alright. They don’t go on all day either. I prefer Zwift as I find it a lot more engaging - and it 'just works'.
The Tacx vids are nice, although I gave up on it as the software (as you've experienced) was (still is?) awful.
Admittedly this was prior to TTS4, but enough to put me off for good.
Edit - you can still use a 'dumb' trainer in Zwift - it won't increase the resistance on hills and will limit you to an indicated max of 400w, but still enough to get going and ride around.

Thanks for your message. Yeah tacx software just seems to be one issue after another as now there’s something amiss with the google licence. I thought initially it was my laptop so I expanded the memory and put in an ssd hd to give it a push but to no real avail. As regards to zwift: is my trainer a dumb trainer?? As it is ant +? As opposed to Bluetooth?

Didn't realise the Vortex was a smart trainer. It should work, so long as you have the ANT+ FE-C update
Which trainers does Zwift support
Updating Tacx Smart firmware to enable Zwift resistance control
