Help avoiding lag
Discussion
I pretty much only play Battlefield 1 online, and recently have been having quite a lot of issues with lag, or what appears to be lag!
I'm on Fibre, and get around 70Mb download, 15-17Mb upload, and ping is around 20ms. Only thing that i know isn't great is I run the xbox over wifi, could this be such a significant contributor?
Here's a few examples i thought i'd record to demonstrate:
Ignore the first few seconds, that's just my crap playing style.

Surely enough bullets?

Teleporting enemy

Sometimes it is all ok though!

So...there isn't an easy way to run it as a hardwired connection, assuming that those powerline systems wouldn't be any better than wifi. So, is there anything else I can do or is it hard luck?

If you are stuck with wifi then a decent router (not ISP provider router) will make a huge difference (I have One of these connected to my virgin superhub in modem mode - wifi is almost as good as the wired connection) .
Have you checked your NAT type? I have a PS4 rather than an XBox but a quick search suggests it's much the same. I saw something suggesting that an XBox has a strict NAT out of the box. If that's what you're running , it's possibly the source of your problems. Some Googling would find you instructions on how to switch to moderate or open.
NAT is open, I’m on Plusnet Fibre so not virgin cable. and I’m using this D6400 (AC1600) vdsl router:

It’ll be a pain as it means dropping cables down the staircase but I may be able to hardwire just to test it for a few games.
I already have power line adapters running to my tv box as it doesn’t have WiFi so I believe it’s not great practice to have more than one running at one time?
The issues in the vid are definitely lag aren’t they, people teleporting etc?!

Cheers When highlighting the Red bits of the latency chart, it shows:
Will report back more once the monitoring has been working for a day or so. Off to have a game now still using wifi so will see what that looks like

Going by the time, Your ISP and what your up to I think it may be a plusnet issue.
My reason for this is recently our plusnet connection has been funny around 10pm give or take a bit.
I notice things like issues streaming, downloading to sky q box. Low bandwidth warnings on Forza 7. I had put it down to an update to my router recently but never got a chance to test before coming away to work.
