VW Up GTI - will it be cheap to lease?
Discussion
I actually asked the same question in the leasing thread a while ago as they do look like great little motors.
Unfortunately I doubt they will be due to I expect strong demand and limited production capacity. I can’t imagine they’ll be that profitable for VW that they’d start giving massive support on lease deals.
They might even make some sense to buy rather than lease if they follow the path of the Lupo GTI...

I quite fancy one of these, getting a bit tired of porky cars that you cant thrash without going way too fast for the roads. Fancy a change back to the good old days!
A sub £200 per month Up GTI would do me nicely - realistic?
I would hope so since I got a golf for less than that.A sub £200 per month Up GTI would do me nicely - realistic?
I currently run a 75bhp Street Up and love it. The handling is superb, much fun on the twistys. Keeping a close eye on Up GTI pricing, as I imagine it will be a hoot. Had 2 Lupo GTi’s in the past and loved them. Talk of the Up being north of £15k for a boggo spec, does not float my boat on pcp, so I really hope there are pch deals to be had; I live in hope anyway!

List price announced as £13,750 for the 3 door and £14,150 for the 5 door. Now that's confirmed, how long before lease prices come out?

Soon I hope! Think VW have priced it about right, only about £900 more than a well specified High Up! I think. Will be interesting to see if it gets any support from VW as a new model on PCH.
I’d be pretty surprised if it did get much PCH support tbh. They’ve priced it really well I think to the point that demand will be very high even without major support.
Hope i’m wrong though! Would love to have one as a runaround for a bargain lease price!
