Road Wars police officer James 'Dixie' Dixon killed in crash while on duty
I remember this series fondly, the bizarre nature of the scummy public, the tenacity of the coppers & the narration of Lee "Muppet" Boardman.
RIP to the deceased.

Literally 400 yards from my mum's place.
Not sure what happened, normally that road is a mass of zombies plodding along fairly slowly. At a guess, someone pulled across the road in front of the poor bloke, there's any number of stupid garden centres that have sprawled along that road that could exit onto back roads, but don't.

Article says "91 year old passenger" of car injured. If the driver was of similar vintage and they were out at a garden centre then I think it is sadly, very easy to guess.Digga said:

Some able people hand in their licence around that age not because their driving is below par but because of the finger pointing that may follow any type of incident.RIP

I read that apparently he was on an 'undercover' bike (no mention of blue lights being on) doing in excess of 70mph, her legal team are using that as reasoning for her not being "guilty". Not nice for anyone involved https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-berkshir...

Nice bit of newspaper sensationalism 'May have been travelling at twice the speed limit', just speculation on the speed of the bike, but that's enough for newspaper to lead with that statement.
Very sad end result. However, the news paper report does shed a light on this that hadn't been apparent before.
Figures quoted are between 73 - 110mph in a 50.
Enough to apparently turn an Aygo over three times when hit by a bike.
Might be quite easy to miss seeing a bike at that speed in that area.
