The car I am looking at with a main dealer is £41K
15 Plate 38K on the clock
WBAC is saying 31K which is obviously a piss take
so where should I be?

Please don't mention the WBAC price to the dealer if you want to be taken seriously, research the car against similar cars from similar dealers and use those prices to find a price you are happy with.

WBAC represents a below auction price as I am sure you realise

I'd ignore WBAC as a valuation tool. They won't give you a value, they'll give you a price at which they're prepared to buy the car from you. Think of it more like part x value rather than a car's true market value.

I'd just look around on Autotrader/eBay to see what similar spec models are being advertised for, potentially have a look at glass' guide as well to give an idea.

At the end of the day, these tools should only be used as a guide rather than a concrete valuation. If other vehicles are in the same ballpark, I'd be happy paying a little bit more if the car was closer to me (and therefore less hassle to view/pick up), or if it was in a colour i really wanted etc. etc.

It depends if you're happy to pay what it's advertised for.
