Anyone got experience of this? Most companies class things like small oxygen bottles as dangerous goods and can only be shipped by lincensed couriers, involving a site visit, quantities and premium rates.

It must be doable, loads of companies on eBay sell them with shipping and even free shipping. Any ideas?

It's not "most companies" it's the law and if you've ever dealt with Oxygen you might understand why . Meantime may I politely suggest you forget any notions regarding dodgy shipments , it won't end well . banghead
Give me fking strength .

Best bet it to talk to your local dive store, one that deals with mixed gas. They should have a fair bit of experience.

It's the only civilian use I've heard of for it.

From the limited amount I know, it's quite difficult to get hold off. If you're a jihadi with a fairly st bomb, strap a bottle of oxygen onto it and you've got a very effective one.

I'd feel nervous about shipping the stuff about...

How much oxygen do you plan to ship, by what mode (road, air, sea) and to where.

There are small quantity exemptions in ADR that may help.

First port of call talk to gas company for advice. They will be very helpful.

Used to be DGSA for Air Products back in the day.

Oxygen is just one of the products. There’s argon, acetylene, CO2 mixes and so on, welding gasses. Shipping would be UK, small 2.2ltr such as these; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxyturbo-3S-Spare-Gas-O...

They acknowledge it’s restricted goods and will be delivered by secure courier but it's free..

Think I’ll have to order some and see who it comes with.

To the person who mentioned ‘dodgy shipping’ i’m not sure how you read my post to suggest that I would consider that but I won’t. And yes I have worked with gasses of all types.

It was me , after your "some companies class it as dangerous goods "comment . No offence meant , I run tanker loads of the stuff on a daily basis and especially in the last few years shipping liquid oxygen has become a twitchy bum moment for many . All it needs is some form of contamination and it's good night Vienna , nasty product considering how much of it we breathe .
