Thanks to Royal for the super service
Who, and where, are Royal, Flugplatz?
I was told I couldn’t spec Alcantara on my incoming Roadster, so will have a leather wheel. But do fancy the Alcantara, with an orange stitch to match the Cali Poppy accents of my interior. And £160 seems a bargain.
Did you have to take the wheel off yourself and send it to them? Any issues with airbag etc?

Pretty sure you can but comes under Q and minimum spend requirement . Assume all AMR specs are locked down now but may be worth another ask ? Oh, if you want the custom stitch, then I believe it is a pricey Q option, but just the standard wheel in black leather, or black alcantara should be a no cost option.AdamV8V said:

I went for the exchange option so the wheel shown they had in stock and then it was trimmed to my spec.I paid a £200 deposit and they sent the wheel.
It is being fitted next thursday and then i will send mine to them and my deposit will be returned.

Any long term converts? I read once where a guy would wear gloves because the alcantara would absorb skin oils and over time start to look shiny where held. With leather not a problem but alcantara has a flat look to it.
Well mine has had the same Alcantara wheel since new (4 years and 26,000 miles) and it's just about due its second refresh. I did it with a microfibre cloth wetted with water and a little detergent (washing up liquid) then "rinsed" with the same cloth with just water and it comes up nicely. Some people say to use baby wipes but my kids are teenagers now. The pile returns where it has been flattened/impregnated with skin oils and looks pretty well new. Once mine is actually worn out then I will get it re-covered by Royal as their work looks superb. For those of you who sent the wheel away for re-trimming, what did you do regarding power to the car while waiting for it to be returned?
I understand the process to remove the wheel is to disconnect the battery, wait 15 minutes before disconnecting the airbag, then remove the wheel.
Once removed, did you re-connect the battery while waiting for the wheel to be returned, or did you leave the car without power for the few weeks it took to have the wheel re-trimmed?

t loads better than was provided to me by D+C for my TVR steering wheel which was nowhere near as good as that.
