D3 wheels on a D4 ... TPMS issues ???
Discussion
Wanting to put a set of D3 winter set wheels on my D4. The D3 wheels have no TPMS sensors and so the dash will no doubt throw up a warning.
I am happy to buy the correct sensors and fit them to the D3 alloys / but I hear not all alloys will allow for the fitting of TPMS sensors; is that correct? A friend suggested that there needs to be a flat part for the sensor to be attached to; which to my mind sounds rubbish.
So; can I fit D4 spec, TPMS sensors to D3 alloys??

I thought TPMS valves would fit all wheels. I’ve recently fitted them to two sets of wheels which didn’t have them originally (BMW winter steels, and Suzuki alloys). I used VDO valves from https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ If you have the original part number you can match them on the website. In both cases they worked perfectly with no programming.
