Audi A4 Avant B8 Facelift Build

Here is a forum for the build of my Daytona Grey Audi A4 Avant 2013 2.0 TDI.

I bought this car after moving on from my Vauxhall Corsa, quite a bit of a quality upgrade and a small performance upgrade. Finally, I cured my wagon fever as it was burrowing away in my mind. Unfortunately, I am unable to afford any S or RS versions but they are sure to come in the future! For now this is about my Avant and making it into a stance wagon (yes, I know.. scene kid and all that).. but this will be my journey with my car and the posts are to follow.

Here is the car on the first day of picking it up and getting rid of the Corsa:



Of course, it was only meant to be that an obligatory photo shoot of it would occur. Me and my brother, Chris, went to shoot it with our cameras as I settled in for my ownership and transforming this car into a daily / "show car" / wagon.

Before purchasing the car, I was set on turning it into an OEM black edition with the honeycomb grill up front. However, before pondering around on Instagram taking inspiration from other cars, it seemed this was the norm for most Audi owners so I decided to keep the aluminium window surrounds and roof rails but the honeycomb grill was ordered. For many a day it was sitting in the house doing nothing at all. Luckily, with my brother being a technician at BMW, the opportunity arose for me to take it into the devil's lair and have the grill fitted onto the car which made me very happy with the end result as you can see through the photos below:






I think it transforms the car and giving it the aggressive touch will keeping the chrome Audi rings makes it a suitable match for the style that I was going with in keeping the aluminium.

Move on a week or so and the modding itch was just getting to me. Next was a few subtle mods but make a big difference. I took the car down to Amigo Wraps, a local company that I used to remove my rear badges. Admittedly, this was something that I could've done myself but having done it on my Corsa, I wanted to get it done properly and I know that they would have a better set of tools rather than a hairdryer, tar remover and some dental floss. I then booked the car in to South Coast Tints, to provide an OEM feel for privacy glass. I dropped it off and a few hours later I got the call and it was complete. Both of these mods may take some noticing to some people but for me it just added to the feel of the car and having my own personal touch. Once cleaned up after the Autumn / Winter grime was taking it's toll, me and my brother headed out for some more photos of the car:






Adding to the overall feel of the car, it was getting meaner and meaner but still not going for the full blackout look.

Now fast forward and I have owned the car 3 months. I am happy with the ownership and the current state of the car. Since the previous information I had sourced some 20" RS5 Rotor wheels which are now on the car and I just need to wash the car and have the right weather before I can show some photos. Being 20" they have raised the height, the opposite of what I would like to do with the car but I am just being impatient and want to have it on the floor as soon as possible. Whether this is through StillStatic suspension or a form of Air, is yet to be confirmed but it shall be happening! Before I get any further I have a few modifications I have on my list:

- Looking to get a new rear S-line valance as the previous owner left a ding in it, effecting the fitment of the valance which has been annoying me since day 1
- Fit my Maxton Design front splitter onto the car to make it more aggressive and different to the other Avants out there
- I have a Kill All Wipers kit for the rear but yet to have the time to fit it

These are some short term modifications that I am looking to include onto the car but for now I am up-to-date. I will try to keep updating this build as I continue but it would be good to hear some feedback, opinions and general thoughts. Have any readers had their car on StillStatic H&R Ultra Low suspension? Is it viable for daily use? Thanks until my next update!
