The wife's diesel is struggling to start in the mornings during the cold weather.

No other issues/smoke. Should I just change the glow pugs as a start and see how that goes?

Worth checking the state of the battery before you get the spanners out. Electric heaters are very sensitive to voltage, and cranking speed will also drop off as the battery loses capacity.

If it cranks right then yes check the glow plugs for continuity. If any open circuit then change the set.
