What are peoples thoughts on this watch? Investment potential? https://www.revolution.watch/tudor-black-bay-green...

First numbered run have all gone. There may be further production runs but now there is a waiting list.

I think that any commercial tie-in is naff.

"I bought a Tudor" is a good thing to say.
"I bought a Harrods watch" is not a good thing to say.
"I bought a Tudor watch with Harrods written on it" Hmmm...

To me, it makes you look like you bought the watch for the tie-in (BMW, RAF, Harrods or whatever), and you don't necessarily know anything about watches.

I think the green looks really good, but I wouldn't have one.

I like the black bay, and have ummed and ahhed about buying one for ages.

I really really like that colour. And it doesn't specifically have Harrods written on it.

But, its a tie in. So i'm out.

Very few watches will prove an investment and most 'product tie in special editions' are no better than the base watch.

Will the Green BB be more of an investment than a standard BB? Probably not
Is a BB an investment (in the sense of increasing in value) Probably not

Do I own a Rio Seamaster over a std Seamaster for it's investment potential ... "No, I like the multi colour Bezel over the std Seamaster"
If you like the Green over the std BB then go for it

Great looking watch, just not sure what I'd wear it with. Green can be a difficult colour.
If you get any issues, Tudor is great to deal with. Mine was running fast out of the box but warranty repair was swift and returned in a nice travel wallet/pouch.

Looks nice. Oddly I prefer that to the Hulk that everyone goes nuts about.

I"m wearing my Black Bay Black on a NATO more these days.. suits it more IMHO.

Of the special editions I still like the Bucherer bronze one they did which I posted on the "blue face watches' thread the other day.

Cheers, man

5 months was the length of time it took for a piece to become available (it is numbered). I put my name down on the waiting list in December and got the call on Tuesday.

I really like it - not because of the Harrods tie in - I just really like watches with green bezels. I do wonder if there is a decent aftermarket bezel I could add to my Black Bay with the red bezel. It actually seems to be the it difference.

Same, put my name down on December 23rd, got the call on Monday and collected it Thursday!

Guy at Tudor told me 1500 are to be produced.

Tbh I wasn’t sure about collecting it, but it’s retailing at 2,630 and being advertised for sale online 5-6k so there some profit if I decide to sell it, also I think the prices are bound to go up once all 1500 are sold

Congrats @Prabs91. Can I ask what yours is numbered? Mine is 32X. Just wondering how the number sequence is allocated.

Can you not choose your number (so long as it isn’t taken)?

Anybody have an idea if there is a chance of getting one now? Either from Harrods or from someone who no longer wants their allocation but doesn't want to profit out of it?

I've wanted a Kermit for a while, thought this would be a more realistic goal, but completely missed the boat.

£2,650 I think, same as a normal Black Bay.

I’m on the waiting list as of today which is 3 years. I don’t know how many a week/month are being released but apparently it’s 1,500 in total.

I guess the price will come down as more and more are released and hopefully the demand drops and lots of people drop off the list who are trying to make a quick buck.

In Harrods today to buy a Black Bay. Looked at the Green vs Blue and Black.

Green is limited. If i could have one... maybe the green, but didnt like the gilt edged dial. If it had the clean white dial and markers of the Blue watch it would be a winner.

I bought the Blue on a steel strap. Why? For me, it looks almost exactly like the snowflake Tudor watches of the 1960’s. perfect.

The green bezel just looks a bit too try hard. Its the dial markings that ruin it. The Rolex Kermit is a bit better but crazy prices now (for what was a bit part bin special).

Still — 5,000 on the waitlist according to Harrods sales dude for the green Tudor. Go Tudor
