Evening all,
A small thread to share my delight in a rather unexpected purchase.
I hunted high and low for a low mileage e46 M3 manual. Having wasted a couple of hundred miles, time and fuel on a Laguna Seca manual convertible that had a hidden head gasket issue I had a sulk and stuck my budget and spec into eBay.
What I didn't expect was the car I eventually bought. I'd never heard of it and not had I thought it within budget.
Anyway, a 306bhp, V6 coupe was on my radar, over 300miles away.
Interested to know of any thoughts or people's experiences.

Nice. I had a C350 saloon (petrol) in the previous shape and looked for ages to find one in w204 guise but they are even rarer than the coupes.
£190 RFL if I recall correctly, which is identical to the C350 diesel that I ended up buying.

The car is genuinely wonderful to drive.
Gearbox (auto).
The gearbox is the most responsive single clutch box I've driven and whilst in manual mode it's nothing to write home about it still creates a fun experience. Sport is great in auto.
Engine (3.5 V6)
The engine is soooo smooth and sounds absolutely beautiful. This has been helped by one little mod I had done. Some will not approve I'm sure but it absolutely transforms the cars sound - not any louder, just a little more of the V6 sound that's hidden away normally.
ICE / interior.
Wonderful place to be. Everything feels bang up to date even though it's 5 years old. Electric heated seats, Bluetooth music etc etc etc it all just feels quality. That said, a few plastics feel a little cheap but most areas are covered in leather.
Misc.
Colour, glad it's not the obligatory white! It's actually grey not black like the pictures make it appear.
Handling, very tail happy.
Brakes, zero feel!
Power, used to it now but still very linear and powerful.
Costs, 22mpg / 30mpg on a run to France. Tax, £190 per year. Insurance with me and wife is £520. Tires, £125 each corner Pirelli P Zeros.
Feels special but to others it's just a taxi looking car. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Rear seats, it's a 3 seater at most. I'm 6ft 2ins and no one can sit behind me.
Lights that turn into corners - awesome!!
Sound! Did I mention the exhaust??!!
Stereo, okay, not the best as it's not the Harmon Kardon but it's not terrible.
Sat nav, great.
I didn't complete understand how rare these things are.
Grille, was never a fan of the standard grille and again I'm sure this will divide opinions but this has now been changed to the one below (opinions welcome).

Ive recently got myself a 2012 C220 Cdi Coupe. Im getting 60mpg+ on my 1 hr commute to work and same back, mostly motorway. Have covered 2k miles so far and averaged 55.4mpg. More than happy.
Looking at a Celtic Tune remap which offers a good return on BHP and Torque increase, possibly some 19" or 20" alloys next too.
