First real cold night has killed my centre brake light mounted in the tailgate spoiler as in the pic below. Seems to be a common issue with the pc board needing re soldering but how the hell do you get at it?
theres a couple of torx screws each end on the tailgate which screw into the spoiler but that only allows the spoiler ends to lift. There must be somthing centrally that is still holding it or some some scum bag could undo those and nick the spoiler.
Anyone know what needs to come off and how so that I can to the board.

Had to have mine replaced and rewired which Audi did last week as corrosion had spread, think it was close on £300

Now the weathers a tad warmer its started working again. A few choice slams of the tailgate may have jarred the connections back together again.;)
I'll leave for now until the weathers a bit warmer and I can do some investigations into how to get at it. Don't think I'll be giving Audi £300 for what is essentially a manufacturing fault and just needs a bit more solder on the joints.

Mine does I've left it for now.

You have to remove the whole spoiler assembly.

To do this you have to remove the interior liner on the boot lid to access the bolts that hold the spoiler, then dismantle the spoiler to get it out, it's a fiddly job.

Would a non-working centre light be an MOT fail ?

Grey area, depends on the tester.
