Second car

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into buying my second car at some point on the near future, I wanna get an idea of some good options. I only have a little 1.2 polo at the mo and want something a little more exiting

Around £3000 max to buy and low insurance

I'm 18 currently with 1 year no claims

If anyone could give some idea's it would be very helpful 😁😁

08 renault megane gt 0-60 in 8.4 seconds car is around £1700 and it is £1700 to insure me and I'm 17

A Clio 182? You would get a tidy example with your budget, insurance might be a tad expensive though.

Personally I would bank the cash and wait a few years for your insurance to drop.

That's easy to say now but when I was his age I was paying nigh on 3.5k to insure a Sapphire Cosworth & R1, do I wish I'd saved my money do I fk the enjoyment I got from that car & bike was unsurpassed plus just turning 19 & managing (just) to have a Cossie was a great feeling.

Focus ST170, it's my first car I can legally drive and I love it, even though people seem to have a poor opinion of them. Can get a good one for about £1k, costs me £2900 to insure at 17, can't imagine it being much over £1k to insure for an 18 year old. Or one of these:

320/30ci
Clio 182 (Probably the best choice)
205 GTI (What I'd go for/will be going for next year)
Golf GTI
Can't imagine you'd be able to insure a 225 Leon yet or I'd suggest one. RWD probably isn't a great idea, I don't think you could go wrong with a 205 GTI or a Clio 182. ST170 is going from my experience, has a nice amount of lift off oversteer when you blip it down into a corner too.
