Changing the Fiesta ST to what?
Discussion
Insurance time is due and the unwanted attention from thieves have pushed the decision to have to sell up when renewal comes up.
the Fiesta has been epic, love the thing, but having to worry about it everytime i park it starts to wear abit thin after a while.
So then comes the question.. where do i go from here?
Size isn't really in issue (cmon guys!) as i've been playing with the thought of pretty much everything on the used market or going down the finance route for a few years.
Ive had to draw up a white board list there has been so many. stuck between the all round more fun cars or the workhorses.
- Up GTI (When its out next year) FINANCE
- I10 (Basic and cheapest runaround) FINANCE
- Audi a3/a4 Estate (4wd, Larger, winter proof) USED
- Volvo xc90 (Workhorse until i could afford a weekend car, winter proof) USED
- Honda CR-V (Unusual choice but cheap and rare, wont lose much value) USED
- 335d estate (Beastly, Expensive to run, can do everything in it, Cheaper rs6) USED
- c43 Estate (Cheap and won't lose much money, can do everything) USED
- Skoda Yeti (TDI 170 4x4 is tempting, pretty much the best all round car and could remap) USED/FINANCE
etcetc
I would like heated seats as its freezing up north and the can to be funish to drive! I know none of these will compare to the ST in terms of driving pleasure but do i give that up for a while until i can afford something better. (AUDI TTS eventually)
Any other option, ideas, personal experience with the aforementioned cars, horrible stories, would be greatly appreciated

Focus ST, Megane 250/R26, Golf Gti, 330i, 130i, WRX,Mazda MPS, S60R.
Focus St has the same problem around here, to much unwanted attention. Not a fan of the 250 or the r26, have seen a few with a list full of issues.
Gti is something ive looked at but dont get that awe factor with it.
Still need to look at the 3.0l bmws!
MPS is far to expensive to run
s60r < S4?

Ive a Renault Sport friend and his is never out of the shop! I agree its up there with how fun it is! but it also attracted the wrong crowd!
Your Renault Sport friend is wrong
The MK2 225's and R26's do have their fair share of common issues, i'll agree there. However, the MK3 250's/265's/275's are super reliable and there's really not much to look out for. They're much better built than their predecessors.

Agreed it is better than the r26/225! but he had it broken into twice in 6 months!

trying to move away from something that attracts that crowd!

I didn't realise these were really targeted for being nicked.

Not sure but ST are bad for it! I didn't realise these were really targeted for being nicked.
First year #600 insurance
Second year 1200
third year after break in around 1400
It should be going down but a Golf GTI 2012 is about 1000 currently so shall have to change!

My R26 has needed hardly anything but brakes and tyres and gets used on track more than road.
Also S60R >S4.
You don't get the wow factor from the GTi you say but your list of cars are far more dreary imo.
I think the r26 is just abit to Marmite for me. You need the wow factor I think! Also S60R >S4.

S60r vs s4 why?
And I think dreary is the only option atm! Cars are getting kicked because they are popular!
