Has anyone else noticed a rise in bad manners on PH?

I`m not refrring to sniping or p*ss taking etc, rather the number of posts which start "Can anyone on PH help,............" Followed by a load of ideas and nothing from the original poster

There was a post on here a while back referring to a stolen truck, asking us to look out for it. many PHers put forward ideas etc, even a follow up a few weeks later asking for news...but nothing from the originator. Didn`t even acknowledge emails.

How long does it take to type "thanks".

Sorry, rant over - just wanted to get it off my chest.

Now waiting for someone to trawl through my previous questions to find an example of where I did it myself.

Maybe they just forgot about their thread perhaps. Its no big deal really. whats more of a big deal is if people actually get angry/rant over it, quite sad tbh.

Would you wander into a pub, meet your mates, ask a question and then as they start to answer you wander off again?

Not exatly the same, I`ll grant you.

That can be quite funny at times.
But doing that in RL is a lost different than online

You're right actually. Next time I ask a question on PH I'm sitting by my comp!

I'm guilty of this, I asked on GG (well it is motoring) what's the best way of getting to Alton Towers (that place is full of tracksuited chavs! I thought I'd mistakingly wandered into the warm-up area for the Staffordshire half marathon!) once you reach Birmingham. I said in the original post I was leaving in 15 minutes (and I did), Plotloss gae a helpful hint, but by the time I came back the thread had disapeered (even clicking through my profile I couldn't find it).

Sometimes I just forget I started a thread, esp in forums I rarely post in.

Ooops, I moved it to P&P hoping to get you some more answers before you left

There is also the fact that GG and P&P move so quickly that unless you have work access (which I don't) the thread you started is on page 54 the next time you get to look at PH. Personally I feel a bit of a prat reviving a thread which at that point seems dead and buried.

So to all those who have offered advice and help and to whom I have not responded - thank you.

id like to thank my stylist, my manager, my agent, the little man from the gatehouse who looks after the proles from the village, my mother, my real mother, my showbiz mother, my surgeon and the pizza express delivery boy. ooo, yes. and anyone else that knows me.

pet peeve mode enabled: really hate it when people say that on radio quizzes, its just so bloody lazy. and why stop there, say hello to people who don't know you too. after all, of some of the people that know you, theres a chance that they hardly know you or, especially in my case, hardly like you. so you may as well say hello to everyone, if you're gonna include strangers and potential enemies. so, when on the radio i suggest "can i just say hello to everyone ever, that theres ever been. and ever will be".

sorry, got a hangover.
