I see this 968 is in the PH classifieds again. No connection with the car, other than low bidding a private owner a few years ago when it was hanging around unsold. Bearing in mind the fortune spent on it, and CS prices today, I wonder why the dealer hasn't priced it more ambitiously.....

Because it's not very "original", perhaps?

Not knocking the car; I'm sure it's a proper hoot, but the pool of potential owners must be pretty small.

Because the majority of Porsche buyers are an anal bunch. Instead of buying a car on its merits, they buy them with the sole intention of being able to sell them on in future, hopefully for a profit.

You only have to read threads on the newest of Porsche’s offerings to realise they’re owned by wanna be investors biggrin

If I remember correctly it cost a lot of money to do the original conversion, and it went expensively wrong once or twice afterwards....

How easy would it be to take it back to original and increase its value?

I’m tempted, as I have a brand new 968 engine and an old 944 track car for the Supercharged engine .

If you planned to keep the 968 that could work, but a messed around with 968 may not give investigative speculators wood.
Where did you find a new 968 engine?

I've looked for a new 968 block for years.
