If you're Chimp owner and came here looking to post a picture of a wheelbarrow; you need to find a new joke.

I was thinking more about what other cars you see in the styling of the Griffith that might have been subconscious inspiration for the designers. Overall the design seems to recall a lot of elements found in le Mans cars of the 1960s.

In Ralph Dodd's book he suggests Damien McTaggart and Peter Wheeler had the Maserati Birdcage in mind when they styled the rear.

It's elements of the front I wonder about. There's a lot of Jaguar C/D/E-type about it generally and this only increased when the "mouth" was opened for the 500. But I can't think of another example of the pre-cat "letterbox" mouth under the plate. Is it an original design feature or are there examples from other manufacturers?

Cheers,

Simon

For the pre-cat nose, I think the Lotus 11 might be the closest in design.

New griff took some styling tips from Lightning, especially the mouth.
