Hi

There was a thread going back a few years ago now (sorry for bringing this up) where unfortunately there was a car accident and sadly Mum and Dad passed away. The brother of the Dad took their child under his wing. Does anyone know how that wee boy is doing?

Me and the wife are watched “finding a family” and made me think of the above.

Cheers

The above link should take you to it.

The saddest yet most inspiring thread I have ever seen on here.

What an amazing and inspiring thread that was/is. Full of sadness yet at the same time hope, optimism and no doubt some happiness for Lucas. Threads like that remind me how great people can be in a world where the only news we read is of the opposite it seems. I thank you Durbster for giving us insite into your private family situation. An update would be welcomed if you feel it appropriate.

I met Kev (Durbster) back in 2005, when we were both on a StreetSafari banger rally called Staples 2 Naples. As well as sharing a few beers at the various overnight checkpoints, we ended up being in the same scrapyard at the same time, at the end of the rally.

Anyway, we were both scrapping our cars in this Naples junkyard, and he asked me if I wouldn't mind filming him and his teammates "doing the deed", along with sad cutaway/fade to black as the car got handed over to the rough looking scrapyard owners. laugh

Really nice bloke, who has done a wonderful thing in taking on his late brother's son.

If you're reading this, Kev, I have some fond memories of the banger rally days - I hope you do too. thumbup

Yes Durbster is still about. He did a YouTube vid of the Staples to Naples rally.
