I want to hard wire the b2 to get rid of the trailing wire to cig lighter.

Do you just cut off the flat connector and splice?

Thanks in advance

dont mean to be thick, but how do you check polarity?

Trim the insulation from the cable near the plug. Connect your meter to the +ve pin of the plug, and note which conductor its connected to.

There may well be a voltage regulator in the plug, if so you'll need to keep hold of the plug, and include that in your 'hidden' wiring (you can buy a cig lighter socket from maplin, and just plug it into that and stuff it all behind the dash).

Both my B2 installations are hardwired. There's nothing in the plug. Just cut and connect +ve to +ve and -ve to -ve - Streaky
