From what I understand the current software for the Tamora is v6.1 and the dash pods for the Tamora, T350 and Sagaris are very different on the inside (even though they look pretty much identical from the outside).

I've also been told the Sagaris has intelligent change up lights that monitor the oil temp to avoid over reving until the engine is warmed up but the Tamora and t350 don't.

Has anyone with a Tamora or T350 had their software updated since the launch of the Sagaris? I'm curious to know if the oil temp monitor has been added?

My software has been updated just a few weeks ago. I have not noticed the change up lights adjusting, but I did notice it on the Sagaris I test drove. Very useful.

I tend to be ultra gentle when my car is cold, but will see if the change up lights come on early when cold the next time I'm out in it.

Out of interest, how many miles do you do before opening her up a little more? I normally take about 4-5 miles at below 3K rpm before going any higher.
It would also be nice if there was a warning for when the dealers decide to put the crappest oil they can get away with when servicing the car!!

Shell Helix Ultra Oil 5W/40, a few people who know a lot more than myself don't rate this oil at all!

(sorry for the thread hijack ), Back on topic; would it be as simple as updating the software, or changing the ECU/chip to have the new features? I also read in early mags when they reviewed the T-350 that the software came complete with a 'sports pack', for track days, times etc?

The sports pack option is still there, just unavailable.
I thought it would have been disabled prior to production (isn't it illegal to race/time on the road and on invalidate insurance on track days)?

I would have said that that was better than the Carlube stuff used in mine when it was serviced..! Cant really moan as thats what the factory reccomends, and so thats what the garage is using, but I would be much happier with some Mobil or Silkoline in it...

By the way, My 04 T350 has the Oil temperature / Change up lights logic in it, so its not a new thing....

Mine's a month older than yours and doesn't! What version of the software does yours have?

OK, mine's outside so I'll do the same and we can compare....

Isn't yours a tad 'special' though? Your profile pic reminds me of the car in the classifieds (which is one of the few 4.0RR's IIRC).

Maybe the software is RR specific (if it's the same engine as the Saggy-ass, which has the adjusting lights).

Nope, Mines just a "standard" T350 I'm afraid, which I've had from new....

..having said that it IS special to me.....

Just checked the software - It's version T350, V 1.05

That's odd, mine says 'v01.5' on startup (and it's the t350 version too).

At least I think it did, I'll have to go and re-read it (but I'll get to smell the new TVR interior smell again )

edited to add: yep, definately V:01.5 on startup.

Perhaps. How does it work - by reducing the values you've set, or applying a new set altogether until warm?

I currently run it with the green light set at 2800rpm so I don't accidentally overrev it whilst it's cold.

I took the car out yesterday morning (and it was freezing) and I didn't see the light at all. If it had lowered it further, you'd have thought I would have done (I probably used 2500 revs until it was up to temperature).
