Thinking of getting a 997.2 C2 manual.

Not that many for sale so perhaps won't have much of a choice. However, if I do have a choice, what would be good options to look for?

It will be used everyday for commuting to work plus as a weekend toy (commute is just two junctions on the local motorway).

As for options buy what you like, it's going to be your car.

I bought a 997.2 3.6 manual earlier this year for exactly the same use as you describe.

Mine is fairly boggo spec, which I like, but I miss not having heated seats and rear parking sensors in everyday use. Nav, Bluetooth and an iPod interface hook-up are pretty essential for me, and most 997.2 have these fitted. Some people swear by BOSE and a sunroof but I don't think either are necessary.

Sports Chrono is only really essential with PDK and as for PASM, I think you are better off without for road use, albeit the ride height looks better on the sport suspension.

I was thinking basic spec probably suits the C2 more but parking sensors essential as it will only just fit in the garage with my other toys (don't want to knock over any of my bikes) Do you know whether Bluetooth come with the Sat Nav or was that a separate option?

As a previous 997.2 C2 owner I'd agree with this. Heated seats, parking sensors, nav for the iPhone connect, Bluetooth. I had PASM and thought it was great and I've specced it on two subsequent cars.
