Morning all,
I am thinking of a replacement for our ST220 estate (which does not need replacing!) and have seen this.

I have always liked the V70 of this vintage and the T6 is rare.
Pomb
d on here has run one in Australia (I think) but has anybidy had one over here in the UK? It will be employed on usual family duties sharing the work with the other cars so nothing specifically it has to do.
The price is good I think. The Skoda Superb 3.6 is a great alternate but £2000 more expensive.
Thank you for any info.

I used to regularly drive a 2009 model, then one of the last 2014 models , both were the xc70 with the diesel engine & jacked up suspension
Good cars, take a while to get under your skin (like most Volvos) , they take a few weeks before you really see the good points
I did think the later models (think there was a facelift) improved lots on the earlier models, namely the sat nav on the model was utterly useless and had so many annoying features . On the later model car the sat nav was a joy to use and really handy, I think yours has the earlier sat nav with the screen that rises out of the dash...
Boots are great , I had a sull single divan and mattress in the back the other day
They do feel quite dated , the competition does feel more advanced . The 4x4 system isnt the best, it works well , but is prone to the odd issue or "software fix"....
The driving dynamics are ok, but not amazing
Great car to own and use though, they aren't cheap to run, aside of fuel, the bills can be pricey.
I would say try and get a later car, but I think they discontinued the petrol engine , plus that is probably the only petrol one avail!
Mondeo estates are similar, less to go wrong, but less feel good factor
EDIT: Just re read you own a mondeo estate already, I quite like the look of the later petrol Mondeo estates with the petrol engines

The ST220 is great for us as a cheap family car.
Had it 6 years and has been brilliant - worth about a quid now with 110,000 but we have done 70,000 of those and it does it well. A few scars on the outside but brilliant mechanically and with a new clutch and flywheel it is good for loads more miles.
Man maths does not compute that though!

The one I drove was my mothers, who let me borrow it whenever I wanted it, she offered it to me , but I was too scared of the big bills, namely the complex diesel engine and the 4x4 system. Therefore they are great cars if you don't have to pay the bills.
Forgot to say the sound systems are very good as are its ability to handle long journeys, done a couple of 500 miles in one day and still felt fresh at the end.
Another bonus is people think you are an undercover police car on the motorways, at least everyone always moved out my way!
Personally if it was me I'd stick to a newer mondeo
