Hi all

I am after a decent socket set.

Is this good value?

This will be my first socket set and not sure what i should be looking out to buy

Thanks

Seems to be some South African brand I've not heard of. Supposedly lifetime warranty, but try claiming on it.

I'd hang fire until after Christmas and nip to Halfords, all the "advanced" sets will be lower than half price. They're already "half price", which is their usual price - http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/socke...

It depends on how heavily used they will be, but for light DIY stuff that looks ok to me.

Halfords Professional socket sets are regularly discounted. Currently half price.

Yep, another for a Halfords set. Had mine 5/6 years now and use it a fair bit.

One of the ratchets stopped working but as they have a lifetime warranty, just swapped it over no issues!

I went for Bahco sets as a balance between quality and cost, plus all the sockets are 6 sided.

Halfords Pro here, actually earned money using it when working for myself.

Came in useful the other day, changing my girlfriends Fiat 500 brakes on the drive and realised I needed an inverted torx and fortunately the socket needed was in the set!

My Home garage set is a Blue Point set that I get off my Snap-on rep, it was loads cheaper than the Snap on stuff I use daily but has taken a serious amount of use with no hassles.

Its this set if you can get one its well worth it, it is wise to spray it with wd40 or similar fairly regularly or it will get a bit of flash rust if you put it away damp or don't use it for a while.
