Both soft tops. Obviously the Jag is a lot newer but a bit less of a sports car IMO. So which would get your vote and why?

Ferrari - but only if you could afford the running costs.

It's a Ferrari; there's a cache to that. Yes, it's nice to have a Jaaag, but with a Ferrari, it's like you own a piece of history.

As a more daily car I’d pick the jag. Ferrari would be the more special of the two though. Sounds great too. I’d pick the 360 for a second car no question.

You can't possibly be serious?

If you've not owned a Ferrari yet then get that box ticked. F-Type is a fantastic bit of kit but if you don't get the Ferrari while you can you'll always look back with regret.

Appreciating classic or a depreciating modern car?

Totally different machines so you need to decide what you're looking for. One is a supercar and the other a sports car.

The 360 is not daily driver material and will cost a lot more to run than the F Type.

Hi, I may be able to help as I have both a manual 360 and an F-type. The only difference being that my 360 is the coupe whereas the F type is the convertible.

if I had to choose just one think it would be a really hard decision as they both have very strong merits.
Below is just an excuse to upload a couple of pictures.

The Ferrari is in a different league, it’s a very different car to drive and totally different experience, I’ve had it now for 11 years and love it. It really doesn’t get used very much for a number of reasons, mainly lack of time and opportunity. Every time I fire it up I feel like it’s a real event and absolutely love driving it. It hasn’t cost anywhere near as much as I thought it might have done to run, mind you I do very little mileage in it. Mind you I do drive it I always try and go somewhere interesting. To me it’s a very special car.
I spent years dreaming of owning a Ferrari, so I finally decided to bite the bullet to me had to be read and I specifically wanted Tan Interior which for the 360 is an incredibly rare option, I happened to stumble onto one with sport seats as well which helps make it even more of an occasion.
Only modifications I’ve done are the challenges rear grill and I change the exhaust couple of years back which improve the sound no end.
I’ve always been a convertible owner, But when I purchased the 360 the spider was out of my budget. I have considered buying the spider version as I only drive on nice sunny days so having the roof down to me would be a bonus hearing the sound behind you - to me however the coupe version is the pretty looking car.

The F-type is a truly epic car in my opinion but for different reasons to be Ferrari - it’s more of a GT car than a sports car but still fantastic to drive whether just cruising along or being pushed hard. I went for an Early V8S, but essentially major it also had the switchable exhaust which transforms the car.
I can’t think of any other modern car that I would change it to.

To me the choice between the two depends on a number of factors including what other cars you have, how much you intend to use them, what else you have owned or experienced and how long you intend to keep them.
The 360 is nicely going up in value, but I sourced my F-type after some very careful research and purchase a very low mileage very high specification car at the right price and although I've had it for a year-and-a-half now is still worth what I paid for it.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

As a daily driver, it would have to be the Jaguar - I've had 3 (not F Types) and really enjoyed owning them. Totally reliable as a daily and you can leave it at the supermarket or rail station without a worry.

A Ferrari is somewhat different - it's a bit of a work of art that you can drive. I certainly wouldn't leave a Ferrari anywhere I can't see it, it's a special car for perfect days.

The Ferrari will have better residuals too.

So it all depends on usage.

I had a 360 Modena. Fabulous car. Fantastic to drive. Go-kart handling. Soundtrack that is hard to beat.

However, some things to be aware of:
  • It brings out the hooligan in a saint. Hearing it rev to the red line is intoxicating. But redline in almost any gear will take you over the speed limit anywhere in the U.K.
  • Other cars seem to make glacial progress. You wonder why they are going so slowly. So, drop two gears and floor it. You glance down and find yourself travelling at speeds that would get one banned. I’m amazed that my licence survived.
  • It gets LOTS of attention. I had one in TDF blue but even that turned heads. Some of the reactions are positive (thumbs up). Many are very negative (coffee beans). I hated it (both positive and negative). Some people would love it. In an Aston (my regular weapon of choice) it doesn’t get the same reaction for some reason - which I like.
  • Tiring on a long journey. The things that make it a great back road blaster make it a bit of a pain on a long motorway run. Drone of exhaust and harsh ride.
