As per the title who is on their own and what plans do you have?
Having been single for a while this is becoming a sad tradition for me and having the worst pub in the area only 100 yards from my door I am not really interested in going there either!
Apart from trying to cook a half decent meal later it is just the usual rubbish on telly and playing PS4 too much, over to you.............

Just add copious amounts of lovely cider to the meal & too much PS4 and it sounds like a pretty great day thumbup

Embrace being alone, you're not missing anything anyway. I've not even bothered with the decoration this year. I'll be immersing myself in The Last of Us in beautiful HDR for the day woohoo

Plenty of Henry Westons in the fridge and a new steering wheel for the PS4, happy days biggrin
In all seriousness though it does feel sad to be sitting alone with nobody to talk to.

AM alone through choice this Christmas break and have really enjoyed the last couple of days vegging out and playing video games / catching up on Netflix. Not technically alone today - going to join a buddy and his missus for dinner in a few hours, He's bought a bit of beef that can feed 14 for the 3 of us so I'll be mostly having meat-sweats later I think!

Will be jumping onto the exercise bike shortly and then having a decent cooked breakfast and some bucks fizz with carols on in the background

You've left it a bit late, but your local homeless shelter/care home/ old people's home might appreciate some help.

I've left the country for a few days. It's rather warm here so a walk along the beach beckons as my after-breakfast activity. However, as I'm on a holiday it's way too early to get up just yet.

Edit to correct eggnog spillage.

I shall be on my own this year. I was supposed to be working today, and so the wife and our young lad had quite rightly made alternative arrangements for the day by going to friends for Xmas dinner, and staying the night. We had our Christmas dinner last night.

But yesterday I managed to get today off work, but its too late for the wife to cancel her arrangements as it would be letting others down. The rest of my family are spending the day together and having Christmas dinner, but as I was supposed to be working I don't feel like gatecrashing their day as they won't have planned extra food for me. So when my wife and son leave the house later this morning I shall be on my own until they return tomorrow. But I'm happy with this, I've got a load of films lined up to watch and i'll be making myself homemade chips with cold turkey for lunch.

Dinner at my Mother's, then back to my log burner, red wine and a bit of the Grand Tour on Amazon later this evening.

Works for me!

Girlfriend is in bed after her night shift and will be until at least midday. I’m off to work at 1, home for dinner at 6 and then she’s off to work at 9:30. Feels like Sunday lunch but with presents!

OP can you not take a leisurely drive out to a better pub for a pint? The roads should be fairly quiet although last time I drove through to my parents on Christmas Day after work the roads were a lot busier than I thought they’d be and there were more coppers out than I thought too.

Now a tradition of mine. Such a great day, can do whatever I want, no arguments or obligations of any sort. I make it my day. Some years it will be documentaries other times I have started a new Minecraft world or done a roast dinner and watched The Great Escape. This year I will most likely be playing WoW.
It is some real time off to relax, it's great!

Another spending it on my own, sadly stuck in the UK again as last xmas/NY I had planned to be out of the country but had an accident at end of November so that stopped my trip, sadly it has also prevented me going away this xmas/NY also. Got a nice bit of beef that I will cook later but other than that sofa and tv

Exactly this. If you're not the sort of person that can embrace being alone then go do some volunteering.

There is a place that does a meal and entertainment for the local elderly here. The volunteers are typically the younger people who are alone, I know someone who doesn't like being alone so she's blagged a mini bus and is picking them all up and dropping them all off. It'll be a bit like herding drunken cats but I'm sure she'll have fun.

I'm on my own too smile I'm usually house sitting this time of year, but am doing pet let outs and feeds instead. One of my house sitting/dog walking clients have invited me to have lunch with them today. I've developed a cold in the last few days, I'd far prefer staying at home, wrapped up warm with a box of tissues and watching the TV. They've told me not to worry about spreading germs, so I can't opt out.

Just used half a tank in the m240i so that was the best 100 yds I've driven with the roads empty, got home and made a fry up. Gonna smash the vodka in a bit and go pew pew pew!

Being on your own is awesome.

There should be a thread titled... who wasn't on their own today and ended up in a family argument!
