Hi,

Got a weird problem on my 987 Boxster.

The left and right sections of the dashboard (odometer, mileage, clock, temperature) are completely blank, showing nothing (as if the car is turned off). The centre section (speedometer and on-board computer) works fine as usual.

Any idea why is this happening? Is there an easy way to check/fix?

I've got a brand new AA battery installed a month ago.

Thanks!

I am pretty sure you can set this as a night time driving style. I will look later but i am pretty sure when i was looking through the settings i did it.
Will report back later.

I have exactly the same problem on my 987.2 cayman, did you find a fix or is it another expensive trip to the dealer?

Mine recovered on its own... after about a month!

If yours doesn't you will either need to buy somewhere those small lcd's and replace them, or replace the whole block. New ones are ridiculously expensive, ebay anywhere between 150-300 and more, or enquire with big car breakers.

in any case visit an independent Porsche specialist for a quick advise, i got it for free.

Ah right fingers crossed they come back to life! Thanks for coming back so quickly.

PS to reset your electronics disconnect the battery for 5 minutes

Did they come back? Mine are doing the exact same thing as of today.
