Series 1 Audi R8 V10 / V10 Plus
Discussion
I am having trouble finding a series 1 Audi R8 V10 Plus that does not seem to have visited several hedges backwards (Maybe not as harsh as that but certainly most seem to have had a hard life).....I have found a lovely condition V10 though but have convinced myself that all I will miss all that lovely carbon. Question is as I will be using this as a daily would I be better of with the standard car anyway...Advice or thoughts much appreciated.

can't answer your question directly, though i'm also in the market and am leaning towards a plus... out of interest which ones have you viewed, theres not many on the market? and what have been the issues? mainly crash damage from the sound of it?
Broken door handles on both sides, damaged sills, poorly repaired front end damage, some cars with chips out of every carbon panel, especially the low mileage ones.nicklambo said:

doesn't sound good, any of these cars at Audi main dealers? i kind of assumed these would be decent enough... sounds like i definitely need to get out viewing in the new yearPersonally I wouldn’t bother with a Plus. You can get the interior of a v10 with carbon looking similar and you can get it tweaked to address the power.
You’re limiting yourself in the market to and Christmas is never a good time to sell.... although good if buying.
Be patient and wait for a v10 - plenty around on Autotrader etc.

Forgive my comments if I've misread/misunderstood but a lot of that really isn't the end of the world. The door handle covers come loose regardless of use and can be refitted properly fairly easily. They're old A4 handles and they always came loose too. Ask the dealer to address or negotiate accordingly.
Scuffs and scratches on the sills are also incredibly common, they're low, have long doors, and are a faff to get out of in smaller spaces. It's going to happen again unless you're incredibly careful or apply some sort of film to the sills.
Nasty front end damage you're right to avoid but a lot have their noses painted for chips and scuffs when they go through a dealer. I've tried this both ways and couldn't sell the 'all original' car with a few small chips until it wasn't original and had no chips. More or less par for the course on a very low car.
The carbon blades chip easily, unfortunately. They're extremely expensive to replace so a dealer/owner is very unlikely to. Touching in carefully with clear lacquer greatly improves the appearance of small chips. We've even wrapped a few painted blades in 3M 'carbon' vinyl that came out nicely.

Thanks for the feedback....Door handles were actually broken (maybe screwdriver?)...sills were damaged on the outside under the door (hit a bank or worse)....I can understand front end chips but these seemed poorly repaired...rust, parking sensors not repaired...and about 5 decent sized chips out of a carbon rear wing....no idea how that happened....headlining all pulled away over drivers door (window being forced?) from an independent dealer and one franchise...Oh well...I will keep on looking! The door handle covers come loose regardless of use and can be refitted properly fairly easily. Sounds like a proper dog. You did the right thing and ran a mile.
Not sure if you've seen this one but it looks good

I picked up a 2013 v10 + in excellent condition 6 months ago, literally 1 day later I was offered another 1 owner low mileage car with the wingback seats. The only thing that put me off the car with the wingbacks was the colour. Keep hunting and you will find good cars out there.

I looked at this one...one concern was that the paint on the front parking sensors is all scratched but the front bumper is not....worried that the front has maybe had a re-spray....would that make sense? Not sure if you've seen this one but it looks good
