Thanks Oppo - firmware 'update' UDP203

Haven't used my player for a few weeks but wanted to look at a 4K disc for my Christmas eve veg out entertainment... (Director's cur Bladerunner as a warm up for the 2049 release in Feb) - but - player tells me a update is available, so click on yes without questioning it.
Comes back to life ok, so load disc and... freeze freeze freeze... intermittently just stops and needs a fast forward to get it to resume. It's been flawless previously so just assume the bluray is a duff one and revert to Mrs Brown's Boys (very quickly followed by reverting to sleep).
However, this morning, check out the Oppo website and apparently a hard re-set is needed after this upgrade or 'playe just will not work properly'. Might have been nice to warn on the update prompt....!
