Merry Christmas all, hope your all sitting there like me, wondering wether you can manage that last mince pie that’s just mocking you.
Anyhoo, thinking about a BEV for the new year and seem to have narrowed it down to the Ioniq. Was wondering if anyone on here has one or discounted one and for what reasons.
TIA.

I drive the demonstrators around the country, so have done a few miles in them.

Nice to drive, pokey enough - goes well, in fact, tidy handling, comfortable, well-suspended, reasonable fit and finish. Clever regen-braking system controlled by steering wheel paddles to give variable 'engine braking'; I once drove 200 miles & only used the footbrake twice when I had to bring the car to a complete stop.

Range can vary; drive it like Miss Daisy and the predicted range can be beaten by about 7%, drive it like a blerk in a big hurry (me!) and it will be 10% less than the dash says.

Interesting, does your schedule by any chance include dropping an Ioniq Hybrid demo car off with a bloke in North Yorkshire next Friday...? wink

Surprised to see Hyundai have opened a dealer in one of the shops at Bluewater. Had some cool enough looking stuff in there. Just around the corner from the rather dead Tesla store.

Are the lead times still huge for these?

I think so, since we've bought ours they've really taken off and the battery supplier can't keep pace with demand.

I enquired early last month, and was told delivery in April/May.

Not me - I don't work Fridays (or Mondays!), it will be one of my colleagues if it's come from Banbury.

We have had a hybrid for 6 months, averages 55mpg driven like a normal car but will do more if driven with sympathy.
Nothing broken or failed and no drama at all, it's a quality car in the sense it's well sorted and unmemorable which will do for school and the shops.

Boots quite small.
