Has anyone else had the following issues
1) engine hitting rev limiter and not changing gear , this experiencing a sudden loss of power
2) tracker system being faulty and so triggering call from vodaphone automotive
I have a 7 month old panamara turbo and both of the above faults are present
Car has been into dealer but no fault can be found
I am getting a little bit fed up as dealer inform me they fix the problem , only for it to then appear again
I have given up with fault 1 as very intermittent, but fault 2 is very annoying as I am continually getting texts saying my car has been stolen and vodaphone just say go back to Porsche , which I do , for Porsche to then say the “loose wiring “ has been fixed
I am completely fed up with the Porsche attitude.
It seems to be , we have got the sale, and now we can’t be bothered .
I tried to buy a GT3 from Porsche and got the same sort of response
Next time I want to spend £150k I think I will still to Aston Martin. The Aston’s have faults , but at least the dealers get them fixed and value your custom
A very very frustrated Porsche customer

How old is the car? I think you can reject it if <6 months.

Does it have a warranty? If so, take it to another Porsche Centre than the useless one you're going to.

The rev limiter thing sounds like PDK needs re-programming/software update. The tracker probably is a shoddy install; maybe needs re-doing.

They're normally really reliable cars, Panameras.

I'd be going to a different OPC

I've had 2 x Pana's - one 4S & a Turbo

neither had these faults at all.

What mode is it in when it hits the limiter and doesn't change ? Normal/sport/sport plus?

Normal mode. It only happens occasionally and when you push hard on throttle to overtake.
I can understand that issue being very hard to fix as when it has gone in they can not replicate the issue
The alarm problem is not so understanding . Surely they should test it before handing it back saying it’s fixed

the alarm/ tracker thing I've had some bother with in my 991 - so presumably the porsche factory one with the fobs is the same in yours?

turned out that it needs a 2-step configuration done requiring Vodafone to remotely set up their system (which they say they did) and also for them to connect to my car and then configure it (which they didn't do properly or at all). Took quite a few phone calls an d eventually someone on here mentioned it and the OPC sorted it in a jiffy. It was just a muppet at Vodafone not knowing what they were doing and had to be told by OPC exactly what to do. Might be similar with yours?

don't know about your pdk issue - no probs on mine so far.

I had similar issues with a Cayenne. Several OPCs had a try to fix it, as gearbox changed down to first gear then refused to change up. I spent too many journeys in the cab of a breakdown truck, and at least once a month in a hire car. It got so bad that on one occasion when I had a meeting that I could not miss, I took my Caterham in which I had confidence in arriving at my destination! After nine months the vehicle it was sorted, then sold.

As for the tracker, you can fit another make. If you use underground parking it seems to cause problems. PM me for details.
