993 Sports Seats question ?

if you have 993 sports seats, do any of you have them heated ? was this ever an option for te 993 (I assume yes) but so is this very rare ?

i've looked at a couple of dozen 993's over the years (just bought my third!) and now you come to mention it, i've only ever seen sports (hardback) seats without heating, but at least half of the "normal" seats i've seen had heating.

So either they're VERY rare, or one excludes the other...

My 993TT has sports seats and virtually everything else, but seats are not heated.

my seats need a refurb... but with the targa heated seats are a must..... so buying 2nd hand sports seats is now not an option.....

sports seats.. not just for looks, on track days I'm practically falling out around fast corners !

Although they look different I think general consensus is that 993 sport seats don't really give you much more support for track day driving than the comfort seats. You might look to try a pair before you spend the money.

Well having sports seats in the 993 (none heated) my mum has a 2001 boxter with pretty much identical sports seats (i.e. carbon backed ones) in it which are heated.

I have never looked that closely but I am sure they are more or less the same ?

Anyone know any different

As an aside the 993 is in the garage at the moment and I have been lent a boxter with heated seat and it must be the best thing about it, roof off yesterday heated seats on just great a must for my next car.

Why not buy a proper race seat & side mounts for trackdays ? Much cheaper than buying s/h sports seats, 1/2 hour to swap them over before trackdays and you'll be properly supported in the corners.
