I run a decent Sealey BG200XL 8” dual bench grinder.
For ages I’ve been running a 6” wirewheel on one side, which I use a lot. But wanted to put a proper size 8” wire wheel on it.
My lil daughter bought me an 8” 200x20mm sealey wire wheel, that comes with various centre bore adaptors. I need the 16mm version.
Fitted it, and as soon as it got Upto speed, it shakes the whole bench to hell. I can see on the inner steel crimp wheel, somethings out of true. Tried various clamping methods to secure it on the grinder, from clamping the adaptors only, to clamping the inner crimp wheel. No change,

Took the wire wheel back to the local supplier (DJ Evan), who happily swapped it for me for another, by ‘Old Faithful’, but it looks identical, I assume the same factory. Fitted that tonight.
Same problem.
Fitted my old 6” wheel, smooth as a finger in yoghurt.

I could faff around buying a motorbike wheel balence arbor, but that will cost £40 to balence something that should be balanced.

Anything I’m doing wrong, or tricks ?

The problem will definitely be with the adaptor.
It needs to be a close fit on the grinder spindle and a close fit inside the wire brush.
Watch the wirewheel closely just before it stops and you'll probably see it bopping
up and down.

Find a better one, sorry to say but if you've now run two of them and they both run out, take it back and find another supplier.

I run an 8" one at work, only has a slight vibration when half way through slowing down on the grinder stand. We got it through our tool supplier though, so not sure on the brand.
