Has anyone experienced the coolant boiling/bubbling in the expansion tank after a run.I am talking specifically of an M400.Is this normal? If not what causes it.

Noticed the same when I got back today... could hear this bubbling sound for about 10 mins after switching off the engine

It's a pressurised system which means that it will "bubble" away if you just turn off the engine after it's at full operating temp.

My X5 does exactly the same, as did the Elise - it's just part of these new fangled way of doing things

Could leave the engine running a bit to get it down in temp before turning it off.

Providing coolant isn't being forced out of the header tank and/or the engine isn't burning coolant then its completely normal and nothing to worry about.

Best Regards
