At the end of June I received a NIP for speeding on the M25 at 112MPH. I was caught by one of the new cameras in the Surrey area early on a Sunday morning in mid June. I returned the form requesting details of whom was driving the car within the 28 days period but have not heard anything since. It has now been over 6 months since I committed the offence. Am I correct in thinking that they have to prosecute me within 6 months of committing the offence and if they don't within the 6 month period then I have miraculously got away with it?

AGT's article on SJPNs and their timescales is definitely worthy of a read - link.

So presume they returned NIP saying you was driving? Surely you have got away with it if that was 18 months ago!?

I hope so, I’ve had nip since and received SAC for another motorway offence (82 in 70) so presume it’s gone to bed so to speak

Now I’ve said this I’ll have a letter next week, the luck I’m having at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised!!

Distinct posssibility that you’ve got away with it

For info it’s who was driving, not whom
