Now I've got my G29 wheel, I've been having a quick bash at ProjectCars2 and RaceRoom (and Shift2, but dumped that asap, clearly nowhere near as good as PC2)...

...they're very good indeed, but between the depth of setting up both car and wheel, many tracks with very varied cars, and a massive learning curve for the driving, I don't feel the urge to get too deeply into any one of them yet (I will, I will...)

Just wondering if anyone's got any pointers for much quicker to pick-up-and-play games that will use the wheel and be decent and modern but maybe more arcade than sim - firstly for me to have quick blasts in the evenings, secondly for daughter (16 and just starting to show interest in driving) to be able to stand any chance of staying out of the armco wink

Hmmmm, well, yes, I could... but I was winning the demo version's races after a couple of tries to learn the track and the AI with all the aids switched on as standard; I rapidly decided that if I was going to get into it properly, there was little point in not switching all that off before learning bad habits.

In the meantime, I grabbed the wheel because it was a good price; I'm actually not far into an RPG (and I want to play the new Life Is Strange soon, too) so I don't want to commit the time needed to learn the racing sims just yet, but I would like to use the wheel smile

Next Car Game: Wreckfest was hilarious when I used a wheel on that. A few settings to suit sensitivity but other than that away you go. Very physical trying to smash things out the way on the small figure of 8!

Stopped playing that many years ago... about the time I realised you had to drive both ways along each road to do the % travelled... wink

And we have a winner thumbupbeer

Spent the day reading reviews, watching videos, trying demos of a lot of the suggestions above, FH3 seems to tick the boxes for me.
Downloading full version now, with the Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansion packs (Hot Wheels pack might have just sold it!), all on sale, less than £30, happy days smile
