4.5 Question?

Is it usual to get minor discolouration of the purple silicone tubing on the top of a 4.5 engine or is this a sign of overheating?

Only the stubborn stains are holding mine together.

Tip that I have found is a good soaking in Gunk degreaser and then plenty of elbow grease and they come back looking a bit more purple than they started out.
