I want to start working out at home with a vision to having a more complete home gym in the future. Work gym is cheap but it’s pretty ropey and missing what I feel is essential kit. I feel like I am missing, most immediately, something I can do pull ups on and do dips with. So looking for recommendations.

I thought maybe separate items I can bolt to the wall in the garage: pull up bar that will allow all kinds of grips , wide, narrow, neutral etc and dips bars.

I noted as well that you can get half racks that have pull up bits, some of have dips extensions and the bonus with them is you can fit a bar, a bench and some plates and have the means to do squats/bench work. I would have to measure up as my garage isn’t the biggest and there is the issue of a small inspection pit, right in the centre covered by a wooden trap door. I’d have to work round that or get it replaced with steel plate.

So yeah, recommendations for kit and places to buy it!

I have one of these and can recommend it if budget is an issue.
Not the heaviest duty construction so if you're a big person it might not be suitable
