NO MORE GATSO'S SAYS U-TURN BRUNSTROM

the infamous chief constable of north wales - richard brunstrom - is no stranger to controversy.when he's not trying to legalise heroin or insulting gays,he's more frequently known as the 'mad mullah of the traffic taliban'.however, brunstrom, once quoted to have said "there is no excuse for drifting over the [speed] limit, any more than there is for drifting a knife into someone," has made a massive u-turn from his once evangelical promotion of the use of speed cameras.

brunstrom has finally admitted that speed cameras AREN'T cutting road death tolls (which were their highest since 1997,despite 2.2 million speeders being fined) and ARE infuriating and antagonising motorists.
in a shocking display of rational thinking, brunstrom said "we cannot keep going until we have a camera on every lampost,we have to stop somewhere.when we look at road deaths,we discover we are dreadfully out of step.we want to create a culture where cameras are our friends."

well,we are never going to be on the best of terms with the scameras, but at least the cops are starting to see sense!
