My biggest concern is aftercare
Most dental work I've had, even by a brilliant dentist has required a few unplanned checkups and further work to correct extra issues and pain! I wouldnt fancy being more than an hour away, let alone a flight
Then again some people never get complications im the opposite!

^^^ A colleague went to Poland.
His teeth certainly looked MUCH better (straighter) after treatment. I don't have a clue how much he paid, though, sorry.
I was looking at cosmetic dentistry for myself - I've a load of crooked teeth and at the age of 47 I didn't think €10k locally was worthwhile, but maybe it is, just to make sure I don't have problems? Not sure I'd go all the way to Thailand.... may end up with a set of tits by mistake!
(I'm also paying for 2 daughters' braces and treatment which is ~€7k each, thankfully in instalments of about €1,600 each 6 months (per child!) but I only get 25% back on local social security/health claim system.)

Apparently quite a few Germans who live near the Polish border also nip over to get their teeth sorted.

I'd happily go for a week or what ever and make a holiday out of it.

Croatia too, there is a number of dental clinics who have apartments for their clients, know a number of people who went and were very satisfied. Would choose towns with all year flights to UK airports ( Zagreb, Rijeka )...I'd happily go for a week or what ever and make a holiday out of it.
I live in Malaysia, and I think that dental services are fantastic, I had a bridge made 20 years ago and it is great, had a very difficult extraction 18 months ago, no problem, I've also had cataract and difficult retina surgery, My daughter who lives in Scandinavia had permanent contacts inserted, the doctors back in Norway who did the follow up were amazed at the standard and didn't believe it was done in SEA, I've also had bypass surgery with no problems.
So here are my rules, old established hospitals/clinics, with older UK qualified doctors, I had a major argument at the newest hospital in Kuala Lumpur, they had great equipment but all the Doctors were young and qualified in Asia, and looking to maximize revenue and were business managers.
I have concerns into the future as the older doctors die off, The eye surgeon I use qualified at Birmingham Eye, and she is brilliant, I use a consultant lung doctor and a cardiologist, both UK qualified, and world class. My dentist is a young man qualified in Sidney.
For me when I go to the Doctor I always look at where they qualified, and I try to avoid any one not western trained. This is not a racist statement all the Doctors I use are Asian, just the training. PM me if you want a named establishment or individual.
