I can confirm Ian does a fine job, at a reasonable price.

Also we were in the company of "Wide Body REG" and a Ford GT40. However we only saw "Wide Body Reg's" car he seems to be elusive.

I had my sevice done and some nice new drilled and slotted rotors I brought back from USA, (and a nice Glass roof).

For information the rotors are Sportsbrake and zinc plated I think they look great. I paid $349 for all four including brake pads and free shipping to my place in USA. Only just running them in but so far they have nice feel.( I will post more info and pics, contact details etc later)

Anyway some pics of service day.

What about faults? My DIC keeps throwing up errors with the Active Handling, TCS and ABS all at once.... Its happening more often so I was about to get it up to BM for Diagnosis... Its showing C1225, C1232, C1287, C1288

Oh and it needs the column lock recall, handbrake adjusting, and new front pads...

Glad to hear there's someone local. Must get over there and check him out some time. I never used American Carriage other than to buy the odd oil filter and I guess now they've moved to Barnes he can make the most of the Kingston area.

Mark - did you ever change your battery? You had some problems a while back and the DIC can throw all sorts of warnings if the battery is weak even though the battery may still be able to start the car.

Yes Ian can deal with fault codes he can get hold of a TECH 2 to deal with any thing on vette's Regarding the steering lock recall he will not do GM warranty work but he may not charge that much for doing it anyway saveing a trip to Manchester & fuel.

Hey Steve,
No never did. Seemed to be fine and I checked the model number - Its an AlDelco but its a gel-filled one according to the part #. GM replaced the leaking ones later on with this newer type. I was only going to if it was a leaking version.

On the errors, it does seem since it went flat that the issues started. It was about once a week before, now its every day. The battery seems fine though. Starts fine, and holds plenty of charge. I went away a few weeks ago and left it for 8 days and it was fine.

The faults only happen at really slow speed <10mph and is always the same error codes. That makes me think that it is a possible fault rather than a weak battery. Anyway if you guys think any different..... would happily change it if the problem goes! Thanks

Just had my service done by Ian Goss. Quick and efficient process and nice people to do business with. Located right on the A3 and not far from M25 so easy access if you live in London or the South.

My 7 year old car has had 3 "dealer" services and I do the intermediate oil change. Running costs are still averaging out at less than £200 a year (plus a set of Michelins). C5 must be easiest to own 350 bhp sports car by a huge margin!

Mine is showing 25% left on the oil and I have a 2000 mile trip coming up which would take me to within 500 miles of the service.

As this will be the first service for me, a) is it ok to leave it that 'late' and b) can
anyone recommend a place in the Northants / Bucks regions for a service?

I know of a couple of places, but looking for recommendations.

Thanks in advance. yes

If you have a warranty with your car then get it done by Stratstones / Bauer Millett otherwsie I would DIY, changing the oil is so simple anyone can do it, you just need to get the right filter which will cost you about $6 in the USA, (£12 here).

Most of the first service is checking stuff i.e. brake pads etc. which again is just an inspection no actual changing stuff.
