Adding Nav to GT4 - can it be done at OPC?
Discussion
The car will need to already have an upgraded sound system (Sound Package Plus, BOSE or Burmester) and the cost according to Porsche Tequipment is £4814. It's worth noting that you won't get the nav directions in the multifunction display binnacle like you would with a factory installation.

I believe SPP was standard on the GT4. Bose and Burmester weren't available.http://content.eu.porsche.com/prod/pag/tequipment/...
All of the components needed to perform the installation can be purchased for around £700 or so; the required codes are available for around £60 each (you may need three) and it takes an OPC or a Porsche specialist with PIWIS 2 or 3 about one hour of labour to complete the coding and activation work. Less than £1000 is a realisitic objective.

Non nav GT4s sell for around £3k to £5k less than nav GT4s so there could be £ in buying a non nav car and converting subject to any warranty terms being complied with of course.
Having said that a 'converted' non original car will be worth less than a factory nav car.

May I ask why it needs an upgraded sound system?
Because you get the hardware ....screen , buttons etc Also seem to recall I paid over a grand for sound package plus on my Gt4 whereas PCM was over £2k and DAB was extra unlike free with ssp .

PCM was £2141 and it didn't include DAB at £324 but it did include the SPP speakers.
CDR+ (non-PCM/nav package) was £1052 and included the SPP speakers and DAB.
The notes I have are:CDR+ (non-PCM/nav package) was £1052 and included the SPP speakers and DAB.
Base audio is CDR 31 head unit with low-resolution display, only internal amplification and basic speakers.
Sound package plus (SPP) at £396; this comprises the external (ASK) amplifier and improved speakers that can be added to the base audio system.
CDR Plus at £1052; this is actually a PCM unit without the navigation functionality but still with the higher resolution display, jukebox facility, USB and so on. It also includes the external (ASK) amplifier and improved speakers that make up the SPP package.
PCM (with nav) at £2141; this includes the high resolution screen, jukebox feature, USB and the the external (ASK) amplifier and speakers from the SPP package as well.
DAB module (that can be added to either CDR Plus or PCM) at £324.
They didn't make it easy...

I'm pretty sure SPP was mandatory with PCM ie PCM was really £2,537.

That's interesting; I know that SPP was mandatory with PCM but I thought it was included within the PCM option-cost of £2,141 (there's no amplification within the PCM head-unit so it needs the external amplifier for it to make any sounds!). I'm pretty sure SPP was mandatory with PCM ie PCM was really £2,537.
