Sinus pressure / tightness maybe dental implant ?

Had a cold mid Nov during the cold I got a lot of discomfort in my left sinus the Maximus one best way to describe is not pain but tightness, doc thought I had sinus infection so gave me some antibiotics, cold went but the discomfort in sinus remained, annoying you cant forget the tightness. Over xmas I felt ill again no cold but sickness tightness increased on left side of face, I felt very fatigued, hard to concentrate / focus, it came and went some days I was ok others I was feeling rotten, I had no cold at all with these symptoms no mucus etc. I went back docs again and he gave me another course of different antibiotics thinking it could be recurring sinusitis but I had no other symptoms of a sinus infection. Is this typical of a sinus infection discomfort remaining in sinus area even when all other symptoms cleared ?
Just to add I have a dental implant near the sinus in question but the implant was placed 8 yrs ago, I have been to dentist to see if that was issue but xrays show implant post had not penetrated the sinus, though x-ray 2D and he did suggest a CT scan (£££££) to be sure.

When the implant was placed did the dentist in question speak to you about the implant potentially being in proximity to the sinus?
Did he perform any sort of sinus surgery before or during the implant placement? (do you remember a sensation of several sharp taps?).
There's been a lot of nasty bugs going around recently so it could well be one of those.
I would say it is very unlikely that the implant is the cause your problem. That is to say, if the implant is placed anything other than projecting into the sinus cavity with no tissue covering it then it won't be that. And even if the implant had been slightly placed into the sinus with no covering then it's unlikely to cause a problem.
We take great care to avoid the above situation but there is a situation where a type of implant called a zygomatic implant is needed. This is deliberately placed completely through the maxillary sinus and out the other side and even with this there is normally no problem with infection etc
As the dentist you consulted said though, the only real way to diagnose this is with a 3D scan. I've got the machine and could do it for you but I'm in France so no help I'm afraid.
