Any love for RADO?
Discussion
I used to own this own, the reason for selling was only because my tastes changed and had nothing to do with the quality of the watch which I was actually very happy with. I wasn't wearing it therefore it went.

They're certainly not spoken about too much on here or elsewhere for that matter though that's more to do with their styling than anything else, they can be quite Marmite in design so you either get them or you absolutely don't and there are more of the latter than of the former. I'd consider another Rado if I liked the look and the price was right, they do have some lovely dials that have caught my attention on a few of their current dress watches.
They do have a following, they're just a bit niche for most.

Great company, quality watches and a distinguished history of innovation in the use of materials, particularly in pioneering mass-production ceramic cases. As stated, their designs can be a bit 'out there' for some, and the brand is not especially well-known to Joe Public.
Now part of the massive Swatch Group with Omega, so like Tissot, Longines & Hamilton, they benefit from group technology in terms of movements etc., but suffer a little because they are firmly boxed into that low-mid tier market segment and so are perhaps not marketed/grown with the enthusiasm they might otherwise be.
I don't think I'd pay the £1,400 RRP, but I'd jump at a good deal on their recently-released, fantastic 'Hyperchrome Captain Cook':

One of the few smaller dive (-ish) watches out there, at just over 37mm diameter & 11ish mm thick. Nice box/domed sapphire crystal, vintage-ey inward-sloping 120-click ceramic bezel, lovely domed & sunburst-finish dial, date in red font & 80-hour power reserve Swiss ETA movement.
I also love their gimmick of a free-rotating anchor on the dial (the supposed idea is that when the anchor oils dry enough so as it stops swivelling, then you know the watch movement as a whole may also be due a service).

Yep, limited to 1,962 pieces though: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/rado-hyperchrome...
They do a larger 45mm version too, but it's not as nice.

I love Rado and it's mainly because of beautiful pieces like this;
A bit strangely, I love the modern Rolex Milgauss and I've always thought it has a hint of Rado about it.

I have had this since 2001

I wear it 2-3 times a year and every time I do, I ask myself why I don't wear it more often.
I don't have one myself but I do have a couple of customers with them and it was a talking point as soon as I noticed them. They are both worn by really individual characters, the type of people who you instinctively want to listen to and rather like the individuality of the watches, they've gone and done their own thing in life/business.
