BMW E81 SOS Call System Failure

I've just had the "SOS Call System Failure" error message appear on my iDrive.
Nothing to worry about I thought, I've never pressed the button in the 4 years of owning my 130i LE... however during my journey I discovered that it seems to have also disabled bluetooth communication and the aux port I was using to listen to music.
The car has been sitting on the drive over Christmas, I wonder if the battery charge is a little low and causing the gremlin?
Anything obvious to check before I take it to my friendly indy?
