Well that sums it up.

I have shares in a number of utilities - National Grid, United Utilities, which I have held since 2010. Although the dividends have been quite good, the capital value has fallen away recently.

Should I sell them and invest in a FTSE 250 fund, say, Old Mutual Wealth 250 tracker, or HSBC 250 Tracker?

What do you suggest?

I’ve gone for a mix of funds, steering clear of single shares...mostly because I read the Millionnaire Teacher! The crux of the story being that fund managers never beat the indexes over the long term.
